New Skype 2.1 - push but not…

Skype 2.1.0 for iPhone is out. It finally supports multitasking so that we can recieve notification of chats and even calls when in standby or when doing something else.

Problem: the app doesn’t seem to use the normal push notification system and it’s always working in the background.

Result: battery life halved, making the new feature nearly useless. What a pitty.

I can’t believe that the normal push notification system couldn’t be applied to the app… Can’t it be like all the rest of the apps? When someone calls me, Apple’s notifiction servers push me a message, I open the app and voilà, we talk… What’s the problem here?
